Big Field Day at Feversham, on July 7th. Watch for bills. Vol. 48 No: 3 Flesherton Ontario, June 20 1928 W. H. Thurston & Son, Proprielor Big Fire at Eugenia MAXWBbL EUGENIA About 10:30 o'clock Saturday ni^ht a fire mysteriously appeared in Mr. ThfiH. Genoe's barn behind Mr. H. Korrester's house. It was not long bt-fori- the fiery fiend had devoured the barn. People from far and near wcrw summoned to the scene to try to extuinguish the blaze, but on ac- count of scarcity of ladders, and other conveniences the fire soon played havoc with Mr. Harry Forester's res- idence, which was soon a smouldering heap. Almost all of Mr. Forester's house furnishings were saved. The loss in both cases is partially cov- ered v^ith insurance. We extend our smypathy to Mr. and Mrs. For- ester in the loss of their home, but hope they may re-build again, and still be citizens of our village. Luck- ily the wind was not blowing in any other direction or else the fire might have proved more serious. Th{s vicinity certainly welcomed the long steady rain on Monday night. This wfll help the crops and gardens donsiderably; , they seemed to be at a standstill for want of rain. Mr. Stanley Campbell has purchas- ed a New Ford touring car from Mr. H. Dow^n, Flesherton. We wish him and his family much pleasure with it. In last week's items we mentioned Mr. Herb Haney as visitor at Mr. Robt. Haney's, btrt- we were mistak- en. It was Messrs Gordon, Joseph and Robt.
