M. ^. held their Easter offering meeting in the church last Wednesday evening, after which the girls of the league served the boys with a pork and bean supper in the hall, the reward for the boys winnig the contest. The girls were not far behind. One thing that we think greatly to be recomended is that the boys were lacking some person to play the organ and one of the girls played for them, and the boys held themselves responsible for an organist for them This is surely the true spirit of the contest. Do the best you can to win and help the other side too. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Blakey receiv- ed word lately from Saskatchewan that their son, Howard had met with an accident. He was engaged in sinking a well on his own property, and when down thirty feet he was caught with a cave-in. It took some hoars of strenuous work to release him from his painful and perilous position. Although considerably in- jured we are glad to know that he is recovering. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Rhodes of To- ronto motored up and spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H. Sheardown. Jackson of Proton con ducted the services on Sunday even- ing at the home of Mr. C. Newell. Mr. Henry Smith suffered a slight stroke last week, but we are pleased to know that he is much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Croft, and fam- ily visited recently with the for- mer's sister, Mrs. Meville Douglass of near Feversham. Prayer meeting will be held in the church on Thursday evening as usual Mr. Ernie White, and friend vis- ited on Sunday with his sister, Mrs. G. Steer of Berkley. Now that the warmer weather is here the Holiness Meetings will open in the Salem church again for the summer months, commencing nest Sabbath evening, May 6th at 7.30. A hearty welcome is extended to all. Mrs. J. Croft of the fourth line spent a few days with her son here, Mr. Ned. Croft, and family. Mrs. W. J. Ottewell returned home on Monday after spending the past week with her mother in Owen Sound, Mrs. S. J. Keams. Unity U. F. W. O. Club will meet on Wednesday. May 2nd at 2 p.m. ot the home of Mrs. L.
