After Long Illness The citizens of Flesherton were .shocked on Tuesday morning to learn of the death of the wife of the PosL- niaslcr, W. W. Trimble, in the Owen Sound hospital. About ten weeks ago the deceased lady fell, breaking her hip bone. She was taken to the hos- pital, where the best efforts of a com- plc'ted staff failed to save her life. About four years ago she had a par- [alytic stroke from which she had only partly recovered, when the last pain- ful accident occured. Mrs. Trimble was a woman highly respected and belovecl by a large circle of friends, and until she suffered her affliction she was a hearty worker in the old Methodist church, belonging to the Ladies' Aid, organist in the church, she was a life member of the^ W. M. S. and held offices in that society as long as her health permitted. Slie was a daughter of the late Rev. Jame.-! Baskcrville, of the Methodist church, and fifty years ago was mar- ried to her now sorrowing husband. The deceased lady was 69 years of age. She leaves behind, besides her husband, four children, namely: Mrs. W. T. Hodgson, Islington; Mrs. C. N. Richardson, Flesherton; Mrs. F. W. Breen, Detroit; and R. J. of Waterloo. There are also two .«isters and one brother â€" Mrs. Curtis of Detroit, Mrs. Edmundi? of Florida, and Dr. Basker- ville of Wayne, Mich. The funeral will take place to St. on Thursday, Jan. 12th. Interment John's United church at 1.30 o'clock in Flesherton cemetery. I believe you have the sin- cere desire and ability to serve th-- Township well. You will, be called upon at this seadsion to make appoint- ments to fill the various important offices. Mr. and Mrs. Neil McLeod of Swin- ton Park visited recently at Mr. Ar- chie McQuaig's. Mrs. Harry Houston and son, .A.r- chie returned to Peterboro on Tue?>- day, after visiting ."lome time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. Muir. Much sympathy is extended to Mr and Mrs. A. L. Hincks in the death of their little daughter. Mrs. George Campbell underwent an operation for goitre in Toronto hospital and we are glad to report that she i^ getting along as well as could be expected. necessary to substitute an entirely new system of road improvement, one which will require the appointment of a considerable number of persons, who will collectively be responsible for the expenditure of sufficient money to carry out the work. As these ap- pointments, if satisfactory, should be more or less permanent, your best and important judgment should be exer- cised in making the appointments. Our Townshiap roads must have more work done on them to take care of the increased traffic. At the same time we must be careful that the tax rate be not excessively high. Several old wooden bridges must of necessity be replaced by more perman ent structures in the near future. L would advise that they be inspected in the early spring to ascertain their condition, that life and property be not in danger. Many other important matters will, no doubt, come before you for consid- eration throughout the year. As your Reeve, I would ask for your wise counsel, your loyalty and support promise you that I will endeavor at all times to be absolutely fair and impartial to every member of the FOR SALE-Ploor lamp and shade t.ounc.1 m any rulmgs I may, from in good condition.
