Glad to see Mr. John Brown out again after his illness. Miss Anna Mary McLean attended Woodbridge fair, also a wedding re- ception on Friday night. Miss Islay and Wilda McCuaig spent the week end at their home. Mr. John McEachern of Durham spent the week end with his mother and sister, Mary, here. Mr. and Mrs. George McLellan and Miss Brown of Niagara spent the week end at Mr. Dan Campbell's. Mr. and Mrs. H. R. McLean Sun- dayed at Mr. J. Scott's, North Egre- mont. While shingling his house Mr. Tom Ferguson fell off the roof and is under the Dr's care. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Watson and babe, and Mrs. Elmer Watson of Tor- onto spent the week end with Price- ville friends. Miss Ida Hincks soent the week end with her friend, Miss Esther Mc- Lean. Miss Irene MacLean is visiting at Mrs. D. McLachlin's. Mrs. M. Henrv of Toronto spent a few days at Mr. Don Stewart's. Miss Hawk of Toronto motored up and spent the week end with Mr. Angras McCannell's. Mr. Don Mac- Donald and Miss Mary MacCannell and daughter, Dorothy, returned back with them, after spending six weeks with her parents. Mr. Ed. Wright of Priceville spent the week end at his home here. Master Jack McMillan has been helpinir his uncle, Mr. Ed Heard lift the potatoes. Miss Effie MacCannel returned home after spending a few dajrs in CoUingrwood. Mrs. W. A. Richardson spent a few davs in Toronto. Mr. Carlyle and Duncan MacMillan vinited on Sunday with Priceville friends. Mr. Angus MacCannell lost four val uable cattle with black leg also a fine sheen, which got on its back and was he'oless. Beattie, 104 Silver Birch Ave., Toronto (formerly of Orangre Valley) was the scene of a pretty autumn weddincr on October 8th, when their youngest daughter, Lolita _ Susan Beattie, was united in marriage to William G. Shenaon, only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Shenson of Toronto. The Rev. H. Wellwood officiated. The bride who entered the living room on the arm of her father, to the strains of the wedding march play- ed by her sister-in-law, Mrs. P.^ A. Beattie of Toronto, wore a beautiful dress of russet biege georgette over pea grreen crepe de -ehine, with hat, gloves, hose and shoes to match, and carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses. She was attended bv her niece. Miss Berna Willis of St. Thomas, who wore a dress of pea green crepe romaine, and carried a bouquet of sweetheart i roses. The groom was pttended bv his friend. Ralf Jane of Toronto. After a uuffet luncheon the ^Ropv couple let on a motor trip to The thousand Islands. Her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Herb Haney, of Windsor is with her at present. We wish Mrs. Haney a speedy re- covery. Quite a number from here attend- ed the fair at Owen Sound on Sat- urday. Mr. C. Newell visited with his bro- ther, George, near Durham recently. Mr. E. Robinson of Bethel visited recently with friends here. Though rain threat- ened at times yet the weather was very good and a large congregation met three times to worship. Three very impressive sermons were preach- ed morning and evening by Rev. Mr. Eaton of Unionville and Mr. Spencer of Dundalk in the afternoon. There was splendid music by the choir, which was assisted by Rev. Eaton and Misses Vada Henderson of Toronto, Marjory Acheson of Oakville and Sylvia Ache- son of Toronto. The walls have been newly decorated and the beautiful flowers banked at the front of the church lent beauty and pleasantness to the occasion. During the after- noon service a Christening was held. We wish to thank all who helped to make our day so enjoyable, especially the music and flowers. The thank- offering amounted to $252.25. Mr. Geo. Best went to Toronto one day last week and had a slight oper- ation on his foot. It is improving nicely. Mrs. Walter Acheson is visiting in CEYUON ali'. F.iJ >Iaijhall and son Clar- ence left on Friday for up north on a hunting trip for a fortnight. Mr. Brown of Markdale has charge as section foreman during Mr. Mar- shall's absence. Mr. and Mrs. Granton, and babe, who have been guests at Mr. George Banks' for a week have returned to their home in Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Campbell. Miss Kate McMillan and Miss Stewart were visitors in' Owen Sound on Saturday. On Sabbath, October 16th Rev. Mr. McCormack of Priceville will have charge of the service her 2 at 11.30 while Mr. Prossier takes iiariere of Mr. McCormack's appointment. We hope for a jrood attendance. Lottie Gra- The Stayner Sun contains a leng^thy account of the celebration of the Six- tieth anniversary of their wedding by Jir. and Mrs. William Seeley, fourth concession of Nottawasag^a, who will be remembered by early settlers in Osprey as residents of that township. On Saturday, 24th ult., this much- respected couple were surrounded by six ci' their living sons, with their wives and families, of whom there were 23 grandchildiren, four great grardchildren, as well as a number of intimate friends. James and Wilson, two sons, are residents in the West and were unable to be present. Mr. Sc'ley is of good Irish stock, having been bom in County Armagh, from w'-ich so many of our sturdy pioneers c-^me; he is in his 85th year. Mrs. Pseley is a Canadian, born in Albion township 76 years ago. Mr. Seeley was in his early teens when his par- '^nts, who emigrrated to Brampton, <^nt., brought him to Osprey, where the family settled. There Mr. Seeley 1-ooed and won Miss Martha Hayes, ''e belle of the district, and there the appy couple spent the first half of "leir wedded life. Thirty-one years --ro they moved to their present ' ome, where they have continued heir life of happiness and content- ment, and bid fair to have years yet of wedded bliss. Among the sixty v?uests at the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Hutch- inson and son. Earl, of Ravenna, and Mr. Ernest Hayes, nephew of the bride, and his wife of Maxwell.
