Bradley "of Leamington, ar- rived Friday, to take up his duties a teiller in the Bank of Montreal, succeeding L. P. Kelly. Miss Perle McMaster and Miss Dorothy Bell, of the G&M hospital, Owen Sound, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. McMaster. Mr. Freeman won first in Agricul- tural class at Flesherton Dundalk and Markdale and 4th in the same class at Owen Sound, while at Dundalk he also won 1st for best gelding and sweepstakes for best horse in class. These two farmers deserve the very highest eulogies for their skill in breeding, fitting and training of stock which reflects so much credit upon the exhibitoi-s. Their worthy example should stimulate many other young farmers and challenge them to produce the best stock possible. T. W. Findlay Canvasses , for Fire Protection Councillor T.W. Findlay, is can- vassing the business places this week, ' with the proposition, that if they are willing to pay one half the cost of installing Fire Extinguishers in every business place in our village, the council will pay th« other half, in an endeavour to have better fire protec- tion. Our town has been very for- tiunat«> in not having a fire lately. but we never know when one may Start, and the council feel that if the merchants will co-operate, it will be a big help in perhaps getting a. fire under control before it gets too big a start.
