Forest Bank Looted By Burglars Mount ,l ; orest Dec- IS. -What v.cre evidently experienced burglars made a descent on Mount Forest between '2 anil 3 o'clock this morning, and, while they did not achieve all they set out for, they not away with the contents of safety deposit boxes in the Royal Bank to an unknown extent. The thieves broKc in a rear window of the bank, after smashing seveial bars which were on the outside, und on gaining entrance they proceeded to blow up two safes which contained the bank's funds. They were not successful in getting at the cash in these safes, but they did into the safcy deposit boxes, which were situated in another part of the room. These they appear to ha\c cleared out of all that wus of any value, including bonds uf all descriptions. Just how much booty thay succeeded in setting away with is not known, but they ceit- ainly did the job up completely. There is no trace of the bank robbers, but it is presumed they travelled in a speedy car, und, in order to secure their safety in case of detection, they cut the telephone trunk lines. It was consequently not until some time later that news of the affair was sent out. Provincial police are working on the robbery. 25 Years Ago U Ueo.
