Fire At Markdale The tire alarm awakened the residents of the village about six o'clork Saturday morning, when it v.- n discovered the yrisi. mill belonging to K.T. Hill & Go. Ltd., was on til's. WlHii first seen by resi- dents in the vicinity of the mill, the fire liad made such headway as to render an attempt at saving anything out of the i{uestiou- Tbe mill had been in oper- ation on Friday and at doling >ime every- thing was in good shape as usual. The origin of the fire is a mystery. Be- sides the building, a heavy stock of Hour, wheat and corn, (just unloaded the day before), was completely destroyed, on which, we understand, no insurance was carried. The building was erected by the late John Kord about 45 years ago and sold to the Hill 'it in about three years ago' The building had been recently repaired and enlarged and an extensive business carried on. The water power is undarn- agfd and it is hoped that the mill may be rebuilt, although the Hills may not under- take its re-erection. Tbe burning of the mill is a big loss to the community, aa it i>nr plied a needed source of supply for mill feed and the crushing uf grain*. The building was insured. Standard HOCKEY ! Another Junior game was held here I in which the Duud.il k Tuxis boys came up i,. beat up the Flesherton boys, but went back downhearted but not discour- aged, with the small end of a 5-4 score. The gme was fairly fast, but was clean, DO penalties being handed out on either side. Dundalk started off with a tush and scored before tbe natives got their brealh, but were held down the rest of the period while the loaals shoved in four. None were scored in the second period but in the third the visitors woke up and slammed in three while Flesher- ton only .secured one more. These two teams are evenly uiatoned and put up hockey (hat ia practically as interesting to watch is Stnior. Armstrong played best f'-r Flesherton, ha shooting in three of the live goals.
