Dr. McKenzie of Shel- burne, T'he latter preached ^anniversary sermons here morning and evening to large congregations. His sermons were scholarly and were highly appreciated. At the evening service little Miss Evelyn Hall of Toronto sang a solo, " Nearer my God to thee," in a beautifully touch- ing and pleasinti manner. This little lady has a wonderfully true and melojious voice for a child si' young (she is only 13) and is likely to be heard from later in the conuert world. The coflections amounted to about $5G. Mr. U. Allen had a nice flock of brewn leghorn chickens, numbering about 50, uuiil recently. He now only haa seven or eight. A cat belonging to the farm gilt it into his whiskers that chickens were good to eat, and as a consequence the birds began to disappear until some forty had come up missing. Then the feUne'was eaught in the act and the cat was out of the bag. Pussy has now re> turned to mother sarth and will not eat any more chickens.
