Glenelg Fall Show.

This exhibition is, we believe, the first local one on the program, and took place on the Society's beautiful grounds on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first day was taken up in arranging the inside exhibit and judging the same. The weather was very threatening the second morning and a shower about 9 o'clock made things look very gloomy, but it faired up and a fine day followed. The sxhibit of horses were fully up to the average while the colts were the best we have seen at a local show. The indications point to a very decided improvement in horses which if continued from year to year will e'er long raise the value of our stock of horses fifty per cent. The cattle exhibit was medium. Pigs, good quality but not many shown. Christ Irwin showed a really fine Berkshire Boar. The sheep pens were mostly empty, Shepherdson's exhibit being noticeably absent this year. There was a lot of fine Poultry which appeared to advantage in their building at the south end. _In the Hall_ the exhibit was very good, the quality being of a high order generally. The extra space caused by the addition of a wing of 48x16 feet, had the effect of giving the display a scattered appearance compared with the hampered state of affairs of former years. The new department was occupied with ladies' work, fancy articles and productions of Art, and showed fine taste in each class. The Show here was particularly attractive because of the exhibit being new and fresh, very little, if any, having been shown on former years. There was a good display of grain and roots, both being fully up to former years in quality. Fruit good but not up to the average in quantity. The large exhibit of plants and flowers were indeed an ornament to the hall. [See page image for prize list.]
