Mr. Robt. Mercer, of Euphrasia, was driving a spirited team belonging to Mr. Murdoch last Friday in this village, the team became unmanageable and ran the wagon against a hitching post, opposite McFarland's store, throwing out the occupants, Mercer and son. The wagon tongue broke off letting the team free, and they ran at a desperate rate down Mill Street and were headed and turned into Davis' Street, and caught in Armstrong's field. Mr. Mercer had a rib broken and was otherwise shook up, whle the son, a lad of 12 years, was picked up in an unconcious state but is recovering. No further serious damage was done.
