Description
- Full Text
The most severe thunder storm for years passed directly over the town last Friday afternoon between 7 and 8 o'clock. The roaring of the thunder and flashing of lightning was simply appalling while the rain fell in torrents. The flag staff on the Queen's hotel was struck and the splinters sent flying down the sidewalk by lightning, and how the house escaped serious damage is a wonder, but strange to say the lightning went no further than the length of the pole. Several of electric lights went out with a snap, and numerous telephones were rendered useless.--[Mt. Forest Rep.
