On Saturday last Mr. Jenkins of the Durham Chronicle was driving a spirited team to a dog cart from Durham to Flesherton when the horses shied at some wood about a mile west of Flesherton Station throwing out all the occupants. Mrs. Jenkins, sr., an old lady of about 70 years, was severely bruised, but Mrs. Jenkins, jr., and her little daughter escaped without serious injuries. Mr. [Spint] who had accepted an invitation for a drive got his face badly scratched and bruised, but Mr. Jenkins, who hung on to the lines, was dragged over the hard snow and struck a pile of hardwood with his head, sustaining two serious gashes in the scalp. The vehicle was righted and driven rapidly to the station where Dr. Christoe of Flesherton was soon in attendance.--[World.
