On Thursday the 3rd inst a little boy of Mr. Andrew Beattie's Artemesia, got hold of a bottle of Croton Oil and Iodine and, unnoticed by any, swallowed about a tablespoon full of the deadly poison. Had it not been that the terrible dose acted as an emetic, death would have been certain. Drs. Brodie of Markdale and Carter Flesherton were immediately summoned and we are glad to say the child is fully recovered, to the great delight of its parents.
