Holland Council.

Holland Centre, July 10, 1885. Council of the township of Holland met on the above date for the transaction of business. Members all present; Reeve in the chair. Minutes of former meeting read and approved. Moved by Mr. Howey, seconded by Mr. Williscroft, that $10 be granted to R. Olmstead to pay for cedar used in culverts on road near Walter's Falls.Moved by Mr. Galbraith, seconded by Mr. Howey, that $25 be granted to repair town-line between Holland and Euphrasia in case that Euphrasia grant an equivalent. Moved by Mr. Shute, seconded by Mr. Williscroft, that the account of N. Mermin and Duncan Matheson for gravel for the present year be paid and that the council hereby notify all pathmasters that hereafter they will not be responsible for any gravel taken for road. Moved by Mr. Shute, seconded by Mr. Galbraith, that there be an order issued in favor of James Howey for $2.50, being for road work performed in 1882. Moved by Mr. Howey, seconded by Mr. Shute, that the Clerk notify Joseph Byers to remove his fence on the road allowance before the 1st of October otherwise legal proceedings will be taken to compell him to do so. Moved by Mr. Galbraith, seconded by Deputy-Reeve, that an order be issued to pay for making two culverts in Chatsworth, $35. Moved by Mr. Howey, seconded by Mr. Galbraith, that we grant $30 to meet the grant of Glenelg on town-line, and that $10 be expended on Allen's swamp. Moved by Mr. Galbraith, seconded by Mr. Williscroft, that Mr. Howey inspect Bruce's bridge, and that he let the approaches to the same and have the whole properly completed. Moved by Mr. Williscroft, seconded by Mr. Galbraith, that Mr. Shute have bridge at grist mill repaired. Moved by Deputy-Reeve, seconded by Mr. Howey, that we adjourn till the 22nd September.
