Shelborne, Formerly of David St., Brampton, died Augest 26th, 2000 at Dufferin Oaks, aged 85. Hazel taught school in the Shelborne area for many years before moving to Brampton in 1954, where she lived until 1998. She taught at Malton Public School and later the Milton School for the Deaf until her retirement in 1976. She was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church for many years where she taught Sunday School. Hazel touched many lives with her kindness and great hospitality. She will be sadly missed by many dear friends. She is surived by her sister Verda Welwood (Orangeville), her daughter Kois McVannel and son-in-law Alistair Watt (Halifax), grandchildren Denise Stansfeild (Georgetown), Duncan and Fergus Watt (Halifax) and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her husband Clifford McVannel, daughter Elizabeth Mack and sisters Reita Doney and Zena VanArkel.
