The town had $4,000 insurance in the shoddy factory, and we consider that lets the matter down in the best manner possible. If ever any other man comes here with the name shoddy we trust he may be carried to the light house and sent swimming with a big stone for ballast. It was a shoddy business from the first, a shoddy failure and the pet of shoddy townsmen; but now that the whole humbug is burned we trust the home of shoddy may no longer attach itself to this town. It cost about $3,000 for the town to learn what the very name of the fraud should have suggested at the start.
