Mr. Grandmaitre said the grant was used by the Township to prepare its first official Plan. The grants are designed to en- courage municipalities to review and update their planning programs, zon- ing. bylaws and other planning documents. The grants may also be used for special studies on local issues such as lakeshore development or commer- cial development along highways, and for energy-conserving planning measures. Whether you work in an office, a mine, a factory, or a shop, you could be exposed to hazardous biological or chemical agents without ever knowing it. On November 6, a new regulation was made by the Ontario Government which will come into effect December 6, 1986. This new regulation provides greater protection to everyone in the workplace in two different ways. First, it sets out specific legal limits on exposures to more than 600 different toxic agents. And second, it requires exposures to toxic agents in the workplace to be reduced by engineering controls, such as improved ventilation, rather than by the use of respirators. If you'd like a listing of the agents and information about the exposure limits placed on them, visit the Ontario Ministry of Labour Office nearest you. If you'd like to order a copy of the booklet which contains the regulation and lists the toxic substances and exposure limits, send a cheque or money - order for $1.00, payable to the Treasurer of Ontario, to: Ministry of Government Services Publications Services Section SthFloor . te 880 Bay Street Ministry of Labour Toronto, Ontario s ais Ontario Minister, Hon. Remember to dress warm when you go out. I've enjoyed our monthly birthday party on Thursday, Nov. 20. We had only one birthday kid this month- Mr. Felix Legault, 82. He enjoyed the good wishes of the residents, along with Leon's yummy cake. After lunch we all enjoyed a penny auction. It's fun to see what everybody gets- it helps pass an afternoon. Our hostesses for the party were '*The Ladies of the Moose", and on behalf of the residents I would like to extend our thanks to these ladies for their work on our behalf. Our weekly bridge players were not able to come this week but will return next week. Well, I suppose you are starting your Christmas shopping. Well, in all our busy days, let us take time to think of those who have so little and try to send something to them.
