Page 2, Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, July 11, 1984 Above are two of the winning float entries. The Township of Terrace Bay took first place with it's grassy terraces and shining "'Gem of the North Shore"' (left). They received a trophy and 25 silver dollars. The second place trophy and 15 silver dollars was awarded to The Ministry of Natural Resources "Some Campfire" which promoted fire prevention with Smokey the Bear and an actual fire burning amongst the trees. Birchwood Terrace took home the third place trophy and 10 silver dollars for "As time Goes by"' (right). Each resident of the Senior Citizens home aboard the float represented a period of history.
