Authorized broadcasters will be allowed to make experimen- tal transmissions over- night starting July 1, 1966. A further three-month period starting Oct. 1, 1966, will permit them to transmit regular pro- grams in color while ironing out kinks and training personnel. Jan. 1, 1967, remains the offi- cial date of the debut of color Ty. In the joint announcement, the department of transport and the state secretary's office said it is expected technical re- quirements will be met fully by then, It was announced in June that broadcasters could apply for permits to transmit in color by the 1967 deadline. However, the industry asked for a hreaking-in period. As a result, the announce- ment said, the government had set up the three-phase program, Workers Stop Wildcat Strike WINDSOR, Ont. (CP) -- A wildcat strike at Dominion Bridge Company ended Tues- day when employees voted to return to work. The strike, which began last Friday, was brought to an end by membership ratification of a new three - year contract be- tween the company and more than 650 members of Local 195 of the United Auto Workers Union (CLC). The new contract, dating from July 1, provides for. an increase of nine cents an hour in the first year, and a total of 19 cents an hour extra in the two other years.
