Of the sample surveyed, 57.8 of the 'men and 61.6 of the women said they believed ciga- rette smoking is a health haz- ard, and 40 per cent of the men and 33.4 per cent of the women doubted or did not believe that smoking is a hazard. More than 60 per cent of resi- dents in Ontario and the west- ern provinces were convinced of the health hazard, but less than half of the residents of Quebe: believed it.
