The teletype network will link more than 120 municipal police departments and provincial po- lice detachments in Ontario. Fiftyfive OPP detachments and every community with more than 10,000 population will be linked. Information will be passed on to smaller centres by radio and telephone. Municipal police forces will pay the $44,000 annual leasing fee and the provincial govern- ment will bear the remainder of the $190,000 cost for install- ing the lines. A ceremony officially opening the network will be held here and will be attended by Pre- mier Robarts, Attorney-General Arthur Wishart and senior OPP officers. The tap-proof system can also be linked to the RCMP net-| work, police in Quebec, New York and Michigan, and Inter- pol headquarters in Europe. ELVA GOT OFF BEATEN TRACK HULL, Que. (CP)--Elva Doreen Ford of Ottawa must have wondered why the road seemed bumpy as she drove through Hull Sunday night. She was driving her small ear down a railroad track.
