Town To Study Street Widening BOWMANVILLE (Staff) -- A proposal to widen King street at an estimated cost of $52,000 was referred to the roads and streets committee for budget consideration at Monday night's council meeting. The widening would be from Ontario street to Liberty street, The proposed work includes: --Excavation, a granular base and asphalt paving over a five- ii wide strip on each side of the existing King street pave- museum board to replace two, outgoing members and R. G. Gropp to the library board. Bowmanville's mew library will cost another $6,000. The contractor for the new building advised the finance committee that, owing to the delay in the acceptance of the tender, federal tax changes and labor rates have increased, in- creasing the cost of the build- ing. The building will now cost $146,400. A minute of silence in mem- ory of Councillor Carl Leslie was observed by town council. Mayor Ivan Hobbs also paid tribute to Mr. Leslie.
