OFFICIAL ENTRY FORMS AND SPONSOR FORMS AVAILABLE AT Russell Food Mart and Russell Locker Plant Try our Summer Recipe... s If you're Layered Cherry-Cheese Mold out of shape, y you re out 1 envelope unflavoured gelatin 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 3-0z. pkg. of cherry flavour- ed gelatin 3% cup boiling water 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 21-0z. can cherry pie filling 1 2-0z. pkg. dessert topping mix 2 3-0z. pkg. cream cheese, softened In saucepan soften unflavour- ed gelatin in 1 cup cold water. Heat & stir until dissolved. Stir in 1 tbsp. lemon juice. Cool. Meanwhile, dissolve water (% cup). Stir in the 1 tbsp. lemon juice & pie filling. Pour about % of the cherry mixture into a 6% cup mold. Chill until almost firm. Leave remainder of cherry mixture at room temper- ature. Prepare dessert topping, mix according to package direct- ions. Beat in cream cheese. Fold in cooled unflavoured gelatin. Spoon about /% of white mixture over almost firm cherry mixture in mold. Chill till almost firm. Leave rest of topping mixture at room temperature. Top the almost firm white layer mixture with another % of the cherry mixture. Chill till almost firm. (To hasten chilling, place in freezer about 10 minutes. Watch carefully so that gelatin does not become too firm). Repeat with remaining white & cherry mixture chilling after each layer and ending with cherry layer. Chill till firm. Makes 8 servings. of the running. The Russell Bantams softball team travelled to Metcalfe on Tuesday, May 25 to open their 1977 season, due to a mix-up in scheduling we arrived 1% hrs. early, but it seems this delay did the boys no harm. Another set back forced Metcalfe to forfeit the league game when their umpire failed to show for the game by 8:45 p.m. The boys after all this decided to play an exhibition game. Russell had first bat and came up with 3 runs, 1st by T. Harrison, 2nd by S. Cherry, 3rd by G. McLaren. The inning ended when B. Pawchuck was put out at first base leaving Russell with one man on base. Metcalfe's first batter T. Herr made it to 3rd base before B. McLaren, pitcher for Russell, managed to strike out three in a row. 2nd inning saw Russell strike out 3 in a row by Metcalfe's pitcher S. Corylon. It looked at this point it might be a close game. Metcalfe's turn to Russell Review Minor Ball ussell Bantam Opens bat saw them go down 3 in a row as Greg appeared to show he had still retained his old form from last year. 3rd inning -- Russell's first two batters struck out, then they turned on their fire and to collect 7 runs before Metcalfe finally got the 3rd man out. Metcalfe managed a man on 3rd base and 2nd base before Russell put three men away. 4th inning -- Brought Russell up one more run on a home run by G. McLaren. Metcalfe were still unsucessfull in the fourth inning only managing to get a man to 3rd base before three men were counted out by T. McLaren who relieved his brother at the mound for Russell. 5th inning saw Russell acquire 16 runs to walk away with the ball game 27-0.
