Ida Krause will convene the lunch committee for this meeting assisted by Bern Jacomb, Alice Sparkes, Bea McCuaig and Maybelle Fur- longer. The date for the Christmas bazaar-tea was set for December 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. in tHe Club. Birthday prizes were donated by Maybelle Furlonger, Betha Miller, Bruce Lidkea and Eva Haughn and won by Helen and "Nim" Wallace, Ida Krause and Annie. Niemi. = Following the meeting a halloween party was enjoyed with much laughter over the ill- assorted costumes, brought, wrapped and dis- tributed at random to the members, prizes a- warded to Joe Campbell and Norman McCuaigy; first and second for men; Mary Chadwell and Winnie Campbell, first and second for ladies and Honorable Mention given to Gordon McCuaig. ART CLUB MEETING The Schreiber Art Club held its regular meeting on October 17 in the Public School with Mrs. Simone Boureois presiding. Member- ship was reported now at forty two. The children's class, restricted to Schrei- ber children only, has had to be divided into two groups because of the number and interest shown. ~The secretary was asked to write Confeder- ation College for a clarification of courses and other matters, and express the hope that the local club may get a Spring Art course through the College. Cards were sent to members ill at home or in hospital. The Schreiber Art Club thoroughly enjoyed an outdoor painting session over the weekend, arranged by the Nipigon Club at Gurney by-the- Sea, and it is hoped this can become a yearly event. Adding much to the event was the pre- sence of Miss Phillips, a painter from Toronto who has been engaged in doing a mural in a Nipigon School. She has met with the Nipigon Club and was most interested in the work being done by both clubs. LADIES AUXILIARY LEGION BRANCH 109 At the October meeting of the Ladies Auxil- iary to the Royal Canadian Legion 109, it was agreed to accept the "bid" of the United Church Women to cater for the November 11 banquet.
