Mr. and Mrs. Cy Copps, of Thunder Bay visited Mr. and Mrs. Alex Power en route home from Toronto. Mike McGuire and Tim Power are on a Cook's Tour of Western Canada, their goal tentatively] set as Calgary. The two, after some thought and questioning locally, discovered their problem was not to discover where they had relations to visit, en route, but rather, a place where they had no relations! Mr. and Mrs. D'Arcy McGuire spent a most in- teresting vacation this summer, visiting sev- en countries in Europe as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Geerlandt, in Marcg-en-Bar- oeural, France. The two wives have been pen pals since they were girls. Mr. and Mrs. Ger- ald Rahn, of St. Joseph's Island, the McGuires travelling companions, were eager to locate the family home of Mrs. Rahn's forbears in Wales. - They found it, still a handsome build- ing and still being lived in. The residence was the former home of Mrs. Rahn's great grandfather, a major in the British Army, and " when he resigned his commission he came to Canada. in 1830. Further interest in the story is that Mrs. McGuire, the former Norah Smith, grew up in a house which had been built by Mr. Rahn, on St. Joseph's Island.
