Maskrini and Peter Mushquash of Sioux Lookout visited the latters parents last week. : Mrs. Edna Mushquash is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital this week. Isadore Ray was a business visitor to Nip- ~ igon last week. ° Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Legault motored to Sault Ste. Marie on the weekend. Mrs. Ron Lanigan has returned from Nipigon. Hospital. + Sara Ann Lanigan is a patient in Nipigon Hospital. Lionel Hubelit of Wawa visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Hubelit enroute td Thunder Bay Sunday. A harrowing experience of spending the ni- ght in the heavily wooded bush areas of Wilson Island last weekend was had by two hunters, G. Johnson of Kingston, and J. Johnson of Pet- erboro. The deer hunters became confused by fog and rain and could not find their way back to their camp. ® Violent thunder storms and torrents of rain added to their discomforts. They reached camp and comrades a day late just as their companions were preparing to sent out a general alarm. They shot no deer but their party had shot three moose on a previous trip this year. At the annual meeting of the oads Commiss~- ion Board Friday evening, the executive was re-elected by acclamation for another term, as there was a very poor turnout for the meet- ing. They are - Ray Kenney, Herb Legault, and Romeo Bouchard. Ron Lanigan was re-appoi- nted Secretary-treasurer, and the chairman will be appointed at the next meeting. It was an informative meeting for those present. AFTER TWENTY YEARS CURLING BUILDING TO BE SOLD The Curling Club folded up last winter. Those of the original members who put up the building left, met at Mrs. Todesco's home Sunday evening to decide .on its future. The building is in such state of disrepair by van- dalism, the past two years, that it would re- quire hundreds of dollars to repair and reno- vate it, that those present decided to sell the building. They plan on putting it out on tenders. Other things for sale are IIO feet of % inch new hose, an oil space heater and fuel oil. Arrangements were made for the disposal of the curling rocks and the folding seats, tabl- es, and chairs to anyone who wanted them. The Ontario Hydro is to be notified to dis- continue service at the rink. It was decided to have the annual trophy that was offered in competition in the round robin of games enclosed in a glass case and put in the public building. A committee of three men were appointed to handle the sale of the building and Mrs. Todesco to remain as secretary-treasurer till all sales were closed and whoever buys the building must move it as soon as possible and clean up the lot.
