NOVEMBER I4, 1974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 9 SUCCESSFUL COACHING CLINIC Approximately 60 Minor Hockey coaches and players attended the Level II Clinic held Saturday at the Recreation Centre. Sponsored by the O.H.A. and the Terrace Bay Minor Hock- ey Association, the Clinic featured such well- known lecturer-instructors as Henry Ackervill of Lakehead University, Dave Siciliano of the Thunder Bay Twins, and Murray Child of the O.H.A. Technical Directors Office. : The day was spent with the coaches and play -ers divided between classrooms in the Public School and the Arena. Lectures were conduc- ted on such topics as game strategy, sports injuries, equipment, conditioning, and teach- ing and practice methods. Ice sessions invol- ved instruction in skating, shooting, check- ing, and puck control. Assisting with the ice demonstrations were members of the Terrace Bay Bantams. In addition, each coach receiv- ed a package of instructional materials and, at the end of the day, a certificate of ach- ievement. In making the day a success, special thanks is extended to Mrs. Doreen Kurylo for a most delicious lunch and to Jerry Dupas, Willard Robitaille, Len Pope and Bruce Scott for or- ganizing the Clinic.
