PAGE 6 TERRACE BRY HEWS OCTOBER 30, 1974 BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING The Lake Superior Board of Education meet- ing was held on Saturday, October 19th at the Terrace Bay Campus of Lake Superior High Sch- ool. ¢ The minutes of Meeting No. 10/74 held Sep- tember 23rd were declared adopted. The minut- es of Meeting No. 38 of the Trainable Retard- ed Children's Advisory Committee held Octoker IOth were acknowledged as received. The disbursements for thc month of Scptem- ber, I974 totalled $511,699.08. - The Board will retain the two television modulators located at Schreiber and Terrace Bay. The equipment will be stored in Lake Superior Public School, Schreiber Campus and Lake Superior High School, Terrace Bay Campus. A committee of Mr. E. Autio, Mrs. J. Nugent and Mr. J. Warwick were appointed to open. ten- ders for the Marathon Building Project and authorized to award the contract, subject to Ministry and O.M.B. final approval. The Director of Education is to research the acquisition of additional property for Stevens Avenue Campus, Marathon Public School. The Board supported the motion of the York County Board of Education regarding the legal aspects of supervision as they have communica- ted same to The Ontario School Trustees' Coun- cil and that a letter be sent indicating their support. A revised policy for housing will be pre- sented at the November meeting for approval. An Ad-Hoc Committee comprising of Mr. Autio, Mrs. Dettbarn, Mrs. Nugent, and Mr. Reid was formed to determine Rental Rates for I975. R. Weeks, A.S. Gordon and R.A. Cressman gave reports on the NOFSSTA Conference in Sudbury on. October 3rd - 5th. The Board will allow a maximum of $300.CO0 per each of three communities for 1974 Christ- mas parties including Trustees and Staff. The next regular meeting of the Board will be held at Marathon High School, at I0:00 a.m. on Saturday, November I6th, I974. The Ad-Hock Committee on the Marathon Public School Building Project will meet at the Board "offices, at 6:30 p.m., on October 30th, I974.
