You may have noticed, Croftbeg, the home in which she’s lived the past 30 years, while driving by. It’s the charming blueish-grey house sitting at the end of a short picturesque driveway, on the north side of Durham Rd. 21 west of Utica. Jennifer shares her home with her husband Gordon and a slew of rescued animals including Maggie the dog and five cats. Each animal, with its own unique qualities has been lovingly captured forever in Jennifer’s personal collection of pastel portraits. Born in Scotland, Jennifer grew up in the village of Renfrew as an only child. From a very young age she fell in love with art and would doodle and sketch endlessly, with a personal goal of one day attending an art school, but it never materialized. With her father passing away when she was just 16 years old, her dreams of a formal training took a backseat to the responsibilities at hand, which meant getting a job to support herself and mom during the difficult transition. Jennifer and Gordon moved to Canada in 1968 from Scotland, resid- ing and working in Toronto. It wasn’t long before they began perusing the real estate section of newspapers to find a new home.
