TERRACE BAY NEWS SO HRET-BER The annual Legion field day to be held on August 5th, will begin at 12.30, with the parade from the club followed by races for the children, for whom free treats will be provided. Bingo will go on throughout the afternoon, with a fish pond, barbe- cued foods, a cabbage roll stand, and a food booth for other items. At the cabaret in the evening, Tony Camby will provide music for dancing and the draws for the day will be made. The Schreiber Kinsmen are sponsoring a Million- aire Night on August 3 from 8 - 12 p.m. in the local arena, when Funny Money will be the accepted coin for the evening. $10,000 is given on admis- sion, and thereafter the same amounts issued. There will be dining and dancing to live music, with mini skirted waitresses and cigarette girls in attendance, and a choice of beverages. The many games of chance will feature guesses on the weather, a timely one this season. The big auction will take place at midnight with Funny Money used to bid on over 50 valuable pieces of merchandise. The Funny Money must be used throughout the evening and is not re- deemable in any other way. No one under 18 years of age will be admitted. The arena will be heated for comfort. Mr. and Mrs. A.D. LeBlanc of Schreiber are pleased to announce the marriage of their third old- est daughter, Theresa Dolores, to Mr. Fred Kent, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Kent of Port Arthur. The wedding took place on Saturday, July 27th in Lon- don, Ontario, where the bride and groom will be residing. Visiting with Harry Hart at his camp at Lynn Lake and his home in Schreiber, have been Mr. and Mrs. E. Zemke and family of Wausau, Wisc.; Mr. and Mrs. P. MacPherson (Harry's sister) and family, en route from Lake of the Woods, to Toronto; and his daughter, Mrs. Gail Savoy and family of Renfrew. Linda Bennitz is visiting her sister, Carol in Toronto and other relatives in NewMarket, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. H. Pinion attended the 25th wed- ding anniversary party of Mr. and Mrs. P. Wanzuk in Port Arthur last we ek. Mrs. G. Banning is in Vancouver visiting her sister and nephew who are ill. : AUGUST 1, 1968 George MacAteer of Chicago visited his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. J. Campbell and other relations over the weekend. ' Mr. and Mrs. E. Paradis of Toronto are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. Paradis, visiting also others in the Paradis family. Mrs. A. Furyk has gone to Winnipeg to visit friend Mr. and Mrs. C. Pearson have the latters niece and her husband and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. M. VanKoughnett and Cheryl of St. Thomas visiting. Mr. and Mrs. P. Cebrario and daughter are visit- ing Mr. and Mrs. M. Stanzel, in London, Ontario. Bob Ryan is spending his vacation with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Armand Antoniak in Cal- gary. Pat McGrath, Mrs. T. McGrath of Killaloe, and Mr. and Mrs. F. Monette and family of Ottawa are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Power. Mary Lynn O'Brien is visiting her sister, Mrs. Brian Duncan in Red Lake. Mr. and Mrs. D. Cosgrove and family of Dryden are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Austin Cosgrove . Mrs. W. Duncan and Brenda of Wawa are visiting Mrs. Vic Costa and Mrs. Ruth Ann Rigelsford. Some hundred friends gave a surprise farewell party to Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Perrault, who are moving to Fort William. A well-filled purse was pre sented in token of their good wishes. Mr. Jack Carty, Mrs. Perrault's father, who has made many friends in Schreiber since he came to make his home with the Perrault's, received a special gift. Schreiber is understandly proud of the achievement of Douglas Spillane, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Spillane who now, from his own studio in Stratford, is in charge of the Stratford Festival Photography publicit His wife is his partner in the studio. Doug's interest in photography began in the Schreiber continuation school camera club. Mr. and Mrs. Spillane, with Nancie and Michael, have just returned from visit- ing Doug and his wife and other relatives in Toronto, Oshawa, and other centres in southern Ontario. U.N. PILGRIMAGE MAKES ANNUAL VISIT Twenty-seven students from Western Canada and the United States on the annual United Nations Pil- grimage, sponsored by the Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodges in both countries, were entertained at a (Cont'd on page 10)
