The Town of Oakville has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for the Flood Mitigation Opportunities Study for Lower Morrison and Lower Wedgewood Creeks. Town staff are seeking public input related to this project, including preferred mitigation measures, evaluation criteria, potential environmental effects, and any other concerns. The study is being conducted in compliance with Schedule 'C' of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. This will be the second public consultation for the Flood Mitigation Opportunities Study. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this will be a virtual public consultation. Although traditional in-per- son kindergarten open houses will not be held this year through the Halton District School Board, three-year-olds and their families are invited to view a virtual kindergarten ex- perience. At kindergarten.hdsb.ca, kids can explore a kindergarten classroom. There will be videos, pictures and activities for the kids. Parents and guardians can also learn about the kindergar- ten program, play-based learn- ing, community resources in Halton and before- and after- school care. Families can also sign up to receive a welcome package from the HDSB with a free children's book. Registration for kindergar- ten begins in January 2021 and will be by appointment only, in person and/or virtual, through the school your child will at- tend.
