. Last year some four hundred people attended the Seventeenth Annual Easter dance of the Cir- colo Colombo and it was procla- imed the outstanding social event of the season. This year the committee have completed plans to far surpass last year's success. Requests for invitati- vst~ have been received from w; my points outside the city. Evidently the fame of the Cir- colo Colombo Annual dance has spread far and wide. There is a reason for this, as everyone; who has had the pleasure of at- tending re dily knows. The Cir- colo Colombo dance is THE dan- ce of the year. It is the first chance that the' pleasure loving Italians have of giving vent to their suppressed state after the Lenten season. Here congenia- lity, sociability and good com- radeship permeates. Everyone, young, old, friends, strangers are made to feel at home, so much so that before the even- ing is well under way, the guests feel like a large happy family. This 'friendly feeling has been the main cause for-the Circolo successes. At this Easter Monday dance the unofficial annual fashion parade of the Italian colony ta- kes place. Last year the society reporters were astonished at the creations worn by our Ita- lian girls. Another outstanding feature of this dance is the fact that a first class orchestra is always in attendance. All the above facts warrant the excitement created Wm EXECUTIVE OF' THE CLUB Past Pres. To be critical it lacked a few gigolos for 'the damsels but they kept well in high spirits, shouting their college yells. And what an orchestra! Whew! Vic Bagnato was leader. Isn't that enough? . . . _ Our dance is still far off. We are preparing far in advance and covering every little detail to make sure nothing has been overlooked to make it the big- gest success. The programme consisted of danc- ing, games and sing songs etc.. The main feature of the even- ing was Joe Catena's famous "Hunting Scene", which was done to perfection (Am I mor- tified, or were they embarrass- sed!). At the time of writing the Spows have yet to play the Friuli and the big point winners in this set will meet the Five Pellettiers in the first of the playoffs, on Tuesday, Mar. 27. The two re- maining teams will meet on Monday, Mar. 26. Since it is necessary that a member of any bowling team must have played in at least 21 games before being eligible for the playoffs a notice will be posted of all such players and the managers are advised to check it over before any dispu- tes may arise. DRESS OPTIONAL In looking over the scores for the week we note that garrulo. us Conti has at last come into his own. Two single games of 288 and 283 were his efforts for the week and if he had,re- peated this achievement occasi- onally throughout the season his team would have easily ma- de the playoffs. G. Bernardo was in there as usual to bring to a climax a very successful bowling average. Mallen of the Eaton team was also in there with 805 for three games. Turn- bridge finished his last week with 725 and is assured of the high average. E. Pellettier, J. Longo and Guiffre were the standouts in the third game of the week. As soon as the figu- res are available, statistics will be published re bowling aver- ages, etc. Begins Easter Sunday Our annual Mission is to he conducted at Our Lady of Mt.
