However this years affair pro-- mise to surpass anything in the pas The Committee for our An; nual Easter Ball is composed Chiefly of the entire executive of our Club. At a recent. meet-- ino of the executive Bob Polito After disposing of all his op-- ponents in masterful fashion in his Toronto bouts of late, Jim McMillen, one of the cageyest wrestlers in the game: to--day, finally -- achieved 'his goal two weeks ago, when in defeating George Zaharias in' the rough-- est and most exciting bout seen in many a day, he also gained a chance at the World's Title. held by Jim -- EBrowning: Both men came to terms with promoter Jack Corcoran of the Queens-- bury Club after he had outbid-- ded the New York promoters. Since his return to Toronto ring last fall, McMillen has ap-- peared in many thrilling, bouts, he is heavier and more experi-- enced than before, he has also adoptd a style 'of wrestling which tends to incurr the. fans displeasure and. also tends to get his opponents 'goat". Ma-- ny of the fans have howled ana hooted derision. at MeMillen for the sly. tricks which, while not legal, are not really considereu rough. . i i e i McMillen is at his best when wrestling-- --scientifie © men, -- as witness the splendid bout which he and Gino Garibaldi put on not so long "ago. In the heavy. going, ' his football training stands him in' good istead. and when riled can hand out plenty of punishment, this he proved against Zaharias, when he defe, ated the "bad man" at his own game. * ; JIM MeMILLEN VS, JIM BROWNING FOR WORLD'S HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE ircolo Annual Easter Ball BOLLETTINO . Conjuncti-- on with our fair in City's hun-- dredth Birthday. There will be special favors for sall' both young and old. The subscripti-- on for 'this stupendous Ball, the premiere of .the. year, shall be the sum of One Dollar, Prepare yourself for the First Ball after the Lenten season. Remember the date Monday April 2 -- at the King Edward Hotel in the most beautiful ball room in Ca-- nada --'The Crystal Ball Room,; Jim Browning the champion, is truly a champion in every respect. He has met and defe-- ated all comers in all parts of the North American Continent, unlike 'Jim Londos, Browning throws cautions to the winds and gives the 'cash customers plenty'of ~action, the proof of this is that he has been thrown for one fall by Savoldi, Dusek and Malcewicz, but he has al-- ways come from behind and=se-- cured the deciding falls. His airoplane scissors has been the downfall of all ambitious con-- tenders and it will be interest-- ing to see whether the wily Me-- Millen has perfected a defence against this bone--crushing vi-- ce--like hold. -- Several of the wrestlers have tried .to imitate this "'hold, --but they have not had the super strength requir-- ed in the legs to make it effec-- tive. Although this hold is Browning's main weapon, he is a past master in all the other known holds of the game. His defence is well nigh perfect, with the exception of that aga-- inst flying tackles and it is in this department that McMillen excells as he was the first ot the modern grapplers to utilize football tactics in the, wrestling game. .. @ The bouts will be held next Wednesday night. March 14th, instead of the. usual Thursday night, in Maple Leaf Gardens and there will be no advance in prices for this world's cham-- pionship -- bout. Promoter Cor-- coran has also arranged for an all star supporting card. RECORDS FOR; THE MONTH Feb. 16 -- March 15 5 Pelettien)............ 3197 High Score for Team 5 pefetfierf ............
