Mr. Me Ail-lay thought a )',f,gi, of the Secret- ary's and Treasarer's reports, to- gether with the Year Book of the So- eiety should be placed in the hands of everyone interested in the welfare of children. Mr. R. LeHeup, Secretary pnd Ins-l peetor of the L‘.A.S., told the' meeting) that the Year Book would be ready for distribution in a few days. It oon-' tains a. brief historical account of the Children 's Aid Society, and a review of its aims, objects and methods. Spe- cial reference is made to the work cat'- ried on in Temiskaming. The Juvenile Court also is given attention. The fol- lowing parag, raph in this regard may be of particular interest:--) are fortunate in Temiskaming in having a "Juvenile Court, and also in having a Judge of that Court with such an in- sight into the workings of the juvenile 1mind that his handling of cases of ’juvenile delinquency is remarkably ,successful. Judge Atkinson obtains [these results by treating the juvenile W1 W13 93 offender use misguided child and not as a criminal, -and where possible makes the parent responsible for the misconduct of the child. This hoarse makes the parent realize that he must exercise some control and supervision over his child. A child is only com- initted to an Industrial School when all other corrective means have fail- ed." The interest of the booklet is further increased by a number cf views of the C.A.S. Shelter, at Hai- leybury, as well as some pictures of wards. of the Society. The annual meeting received very inspiring and encouraging reports from the 'Temiskaming Society 's branches at Timmins, Cobalt and New Liskeard. These reports showed the great interest being taken in the patri- otie work of guarding the welfare of the children. N.O.H.A. ARRANGING FOR REPEREBS FOR SEASON Last week the secretary of the N.
