Mennonite quilters from the St. lambs area and quit- ters from the Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church in Elmira will demonstrate their expertise. A selection of quilts going to the 39th annual Ontario Mennonite Relief Sale and Quilt Auction in New Hamburg will also he exhibited. Costumed staff will be quilting petticoats and bon- nets just as Schneider women would have done in the mid-19th century. The featured exhibit this year is Presidents Choice. This exhibit showcases the work of individual Canadian Quilters Association/ACC presidents. past and pre- sent. Each quilt has been chosen personally for this special retrospective hon- ouring 20 years in the life of this organization. The quilting bee is an accredited event of the 10th Annual Waterloo County and Area Quilt festival. which runs from May 19 to 29. Ten days of quilt exhibits, fashion shows and workshops take place at a number of venues through- out the area to celebrate the art of quilting in Waterloo region.
