AGRA Monenco will execute this tum kl| project on assign-build basis. The company's involvement in the project spans the initialpesign through the commissioning and start up of the plant. The project involves heavy bulk mate­ rial handling equipment including stackers and rectarmerjrotary lime kiln, ion exchange system for boron removal from the brine, large thickeners, bagging systems and auxiliary equipment and facilities. The project is expectefj to begin in March 1999, and has a completion target of 22 months. JORMAG is a publicly traded company whose major shareholders include Jordan Dead Sea Industries and the Arab Potash Company. JORMAG will use brine from the Dead Sea and locally available limestoft|§b produce magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide is used as a high quality insulator for Industrial applica­ tions such as steel industry furnaces. . Canada's Ambassador to Jordan, Michael Molloy, noted both the timeliness, and the strategic importance of this project "W ith the recent passing of His Majesty King Hussein, Jordan is in a period of transition.
