The Town is the station‘s only tenant to have a formal leasing arrangement, Wood said. Space in the station has also been miade available on a less formal basis to some comâ€" munity groups, he said. Wood said the Town began renting space in the Oakville station, which is beside Town Hall, in July 1992 after Halton police moved its headquarters operations to a new facility on Bronte Road beside the Halton Regional govâ€" emmment buildine. Wood said the Town wants to use a former mainâ€"floor police training room for its computer training. The leasing of additional space has already been approved by Town council, he said. It‘s expected it will cost approxiâ€" mately $5,000 extra a year.
