ARTS & LFE Olena audience‘s choice for best short film The work of a Mississauga filmmaker was voted the favourite among movieâ€"goers at the third annual Milton Film Festival, which took place at the Milton Centre for the Arts last month. Jorge Victoria was recognized with the firstâ€"ever KKP Audience Choice Award in the Best Short Film category for his production, Olena. Screened January 31 ahead of the Festival‘s | closing feature, Victoria‘s film follows a young woman named Olena who flees to Canada from her native Ukraine following uprisings and ecoâ€" nomic challenges.
