All interested in hockey and especiâ€" ally those concerned with Junior hockey here should make special note of the meeting called for this evening (Thursday) in the fire hall, commeneâ€" ing at 8 p.m. This meeting is called to organize for Junior hockey for the coming season and there should be a very large attendance. The people of Timmins very evidently are anxious to have hocl\ey here, and the Junior hockey seems to be the one best bet» looking to both ‘tthe present and the future. _ With attention given to Junior hockey it will not be long beâ€" fore the town has not only good Jumor hockey but good Senior hockey as well, Those in charge of the Junior hockey here last year carried the work @along in very creditable way. Two â€" youngsters, Kathleen and Yvone Stevens aged four and three years respectively, left Haileybury alone this week for a trip to Liverpool, England. They are the little daughâ€" ters of Mrs. Stevens, of Haileybury, and they are going to TIaiverpool to visit a aunt ‘there. Their aunt will meet the children at Liverpool and on the railway journey and the voyage over they will be under the. joint chaperonage of the Canadian National Railways and the Cunard Steamship Company. No one doubts but that they will be specially well cared for. Indeed, it is doubtful if any children travelling with relatives would be as well looked after as these tots will be under the guardianship of the railway and the steamship company. _ The C.N.R. and ithe C.P.R. and the steamâ€" ship companies often look after youngâ€" sters travelling unaccompanied _ on long trips, and it is a matter of record that they look after the youngsters in perfect fashion. _ Several times children have itravelled from the Old Country to this North in this way, but trips the other way are not: as frequent. However the railways and the steamship companies may be deâ€" pended upon to look after the youngâ€" sters no matter which way they may travel, and it may be taken for grantâ€" ed that the two little girls have started on what will be for them a very wonderful time, indeed. | Gyproc will give you bright, comfortable extra rooms at small cost. SMALL CHILDREN GOING ALONE TO LIVERPOOL, ENG Owing to lack of the necessary quorum, there was no meeting of the town council on Monday afternoon. Acting Mayor G. 8. Drew and Counâ€" cillors A. G. Carson and W. H. Pritâ€" chard were in their places ready to proceed to deal with any business, but the lack of a quorum prevented the holding of a regular meeting. After waiting for over a half hour past the time of meeting, Acting Mayor Drew explained that Mayor E. L. Longâ€" more was away on holidays, Dr. Joyal was in Iroquois Palls, Councillor Franecis was out of town, and Dr. Brennan could not be located on the phone, having left his office to attend the meeting. _ As the meeting had been held back for over half an hour from the regular time for opening, it did not appear ithat there was going to be a was no very pressing business to be dealt with, so the meeting could be adjourned for the two weeks until the next regular meeting.
