In winter it.is the scene of many thrilling hockey combats, as well as the pleasures of skating. This seaspn it is expected to have many interâ€" esting hockey matches in this Rink. The Dome Hospital is another very creditable institution, well equipped and efficiently managed. In addition to these two mines hospitals, there are several private hosâ€" pitals in the Camp. The hospital conducted by Dr. Day at Connaught is a remarkably good hospital, with much of the best equipment and conducted in excellent way. Timmins has two private hospitals both doing good work. The one, the Cairns Hospital, conducted by Mrs. Moffatt, has been in operation for sevâ€" eral years. The other, St. Joseph‘s Hospltial, conducted by Mrs. O. A. Farley, was recently established at 120 Maple street, and has bheen of much good service. At present there is an active movement on foot to secure a general public hospital for the needs of the people of the town and district who are not employees of the mines. Timmins Rink is one of the particularly useful buildings in town which the people can thank the Hollinger Mine. During the summer Rink gave fine service as a market building. It also is used as a place This district has made‘ earnest effort to provide for the needs of the people in the matter of hospital accommodation. ‘The Hospital at Timmins, erected and equipped by the Hollinger Consolidated Gold Mines, at a cost of over $150,000.00, is fully equipped in the most modern way, including Xâ€" Ray apparatus, ete. It is in charge of the Sisters of the Assumption, and is noted for its equipment and fine service to the sick and suffering.
