Friendly staff make you feel welcome, while a deep green leather couch in the waiting room is the next comforting measure. You have now entered The Women's Club. With knowl edgeable staff, in-tune managers and satisfied members, it's no wonder this club is celebrating it's one year anniversary. Each woman that walks through the door is treated like an individ ual with individual needs. They don't simply sign you up and point to the equipment. On the initial visit, a consultant meets with you to complete an extensive questionnaire. This becomes your personal file, in which a custom-tailored pro gram is developed. The goal driving The Women's Club is that they want every woman to realize that `finding time to exercise' is not the sim ple solution, or lack of time the easy excuse. They want to help you make the commitment to yourself that health and wellness is a way of life, and should be part of your every day life. Their message appears to be getting louder if the turnout at their 1st anniversary celebration was any indication. Members gathered around fruit and vegetable platters and discussed per sonal goals and successes. Although several forgot about exer cise regimens for the evening and sipped wine while enjoying the pleasant sounds from Latin, Pop and R&B performer John Acosta. Several door prizes were part of the celebration, with the grand prize being a $250 gift certificate for a day at Civello's Spa and Salon. Member Keeley O'Bieme went home ________________ happy with that well-deserved gift cer tificate in her purse. Watching General Manager Elda Curkovic and Director Joanna join in the fun and blend in the crowd, it is clear that this is not your average fitness club. "Our goal is to void the atmosphere of intimidation, and fill it with motivation," explains Joanna. Elda joins in to explain further: "We have programs to suit all needs and interests, including yoga, stretch and relaxation programs. We offer programs that address women's issues such as arthritis and osteoporosis, as well as extensive pro grams dealing with fibromyalgia." Elda is also proud to mention that one of their many success stories that people may know a bit about, Christina Silva, has to date lost a total of 110 lbs.
