Catholic board inform ation sessions The Halton Catholic District School Board is holding information sessions for students and parents to learn of different educational programs. Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer enhanced learning and university-level content to students in secondary schools. Students in Grades 7-9 and their parents interested in learning more about the AP program and application process, can attend one of the following: Assumption Catholic Secondary School (Burlington), Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.; Bishop EE Reding CSS (Milton), Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.; and new this year, Holy Trinity CSS (Oakville) Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. For more information about the AP program, visit the board' s website, www.hcdsb.org, or apcanada.collegeboard.org. St. Thomas Aquinas CSSwill host an information evening on the International Baccalaureate (IB) program Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. for interested Grades 7 and 8 students and their parents. At the Grade 8 Parent Information evenings this fall, parents and students can learn more about the different educational pathways available, leading to one of four destinations: apprenticeship, college, university or work. Details on a number of different regional programs, such as the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, will be available, as well as information on how to prepare for a student' s chosen pathway. In Burlington, the Grade 8 Parent Information evenings will be held on the following nights according to family of schools: Assumption CSS Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. for Ascension, Holy Rosary, St. John, St. Patrick, St. Paul and St. Raphael Catholic elementary schools. Corpus Christi CSS Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. for Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Anne, St. Christopher and St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic elementary schools. Notre Dame CSS Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. for Canadian Martyrs, St. Gabriel, St. Mark and St. Timothy Catholic elementary schools.
