PokerRunroaringsuccess Sunday's 1st Annual Motorcycle Poker Run for the Oakville YMCA's `It's Your Move' Capital Campaign' was a huge success, both in numbers and money raised. The event attracted 126 riders and 55 passengers, who rode the 153.3 km route. Net proceeds from the event came to approximately $14,000. Awards for the highest poker hands went to riders Gord Anderson, Mike Glammarco and Paul Samborski and to passengers Tammie McCulloch, Heather McLaughlin and Kristine Gagnon. The participant who came the furthest was Lisa Baldwin of Allen Park, Michigan, who was visiting a friend in Hamilton. About 25 Mattamy Homes volunteers helped with set-up, registering participants, staff card pick-up stations along the route, and flipping hamburgers.
