At approximately 8 p.m. on that date, an On tario Provincial Police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle travelling eastbound on the QEW approaching Third Line. The vehicle failed to stop for the officer and ex ited the highway at Third Line. The officer called off pursuit in the interest of public safety. The vehicle was reported to have continued southbound on Third Line and was involved in a collision with several other vehicles near the Wyecroft Road intersection.
