He was City of Toronto track and field champion, was Athlete of the Year at Ryerson, specializing in football, basketball and track, and he played several years fo r the Oakville Black Knights Senior football team. Jake coached many youth hockey, lacrosse, and football teams in Oakville through the years. John was a wonderful husband and father. He also cherished his brother-in law Bruce, sister-in-law, Nan, nieces, and nephew. Travel and the outdoors were im portant aspects of Jake's life, including regular canoe trips to Algonquin and Temagami, where Jake was in his element. His love of travel translated into frequent international trips to some of the most remote regions of the world, and he shared these experiences w ith his wife, Nancy, and many special friends.
