Robt. Boynton. who died on Saturday, the 7th inst., after a brief illness, of Bright’s disease. The deceased was one of our most brilliant and promising youn men, and his early death was a severe e ock to the community. About seven years ago he resolved to enter the ministry. Attending the public school here for a few months, he successfully passed his entrance examination, standing the highest in the county. His career at the Lindsay Collegiate Institute, where he matriculated, was most brilliant. He was then accepted into the Methodist church and stationed for two years on the Oil:- wood circuit, under the Rev. Mr. Burns. The people of Little Britain secured his services for the next year. At the last general conference he was left withcut a station to attend college, and during the holidays he ably and successfully occupied the pulpit of the Tabernacle, the first Methodist church of Beiieville. Return- ing here about the let of October with the intention of entering Victoria University, where he was enrolled as an undergradu- ate, he took ill, and despite the best medi- cal attendance be, after a gallant struggle, finally succumbed. The funeral was cm- dueted by the Masons of Victoria Lodge 398, of which lodge the deceased was chap- lain, and was one at the largest ever seen here.
