(TSE: ZEN, ZEN.A) has signed a contract with the municipality of Fairmont, West Virginia, to replace its conven tional drinking water treatment plant with a cutting-edge ZENON ZeeWeed® membrane system. This contract is one in a group of orders announced by ZENON on July 27th and is valued at $6 million. The new ZENON mem brane system will ensure Fairmont "will comply with all future applicable federal and state drinking water reg ulations," according to Bruce McDaniel, city man ager. "We believe that conven tional water treatment plants will be replaced by mem brane technology in the future," says McDaniel. "We looked at a number of mem brane systems before choos ing ZENON's immersed membrane technology." Key to Fairmont's deci sion was the superior tech nology of the ZENON sys tem, which allows for easier operation and maintenance without sacrificing reliabili tyOver the years, Fairmont has evolved from a heavy manufacturing community to a high technology hub with a burgeoning software research sector.
