Excite, an Internet content provider, allows clients to customize their own home pages, says Ken Smithard, Cogeco's marketing director. The @Home Network is an Internet service provider used by cable companies. The new service will be known as Excite for Cogeco @Home. "They can change the look of their home page," said Smithard of the web page that comes on as clients access the service. "They can change the colour of the page, and customize some of the con tent, such as which news stories they would be interested in reading first." V Mattamy wants to deal a full house for Oakville YMCA Recently, Mattamy Homes' employees and suppliers per formed a trial run for the First Annual Mattamy Homes "Ride fo'r the Y -- Motorcycle Poker Run," which will raise funds for the Oakville YMCA Capital Campaign. The company will host this event on Sunday, Sept. 10th, to raise funds for the completion of the brand new $12.3 million Oakville YMCA slated to be unveiled in late fall, 2001. Conceived by Mattamy Senior Builder Jurgen Emmrich with help from cycling colleagues at the company and their suppliers, the Motorcycle Poker Run repre sents another lap in the race to reach this important goal. The event begins and ends at the Oakville YMCA on Rebecca and to the entrant who came the farthest to participate. Don Walker, executive vicepresident and CFO of Mattamy Homes and vice-chair, finance of the YMCA Board of Directors, was on-hand as riders revved up to test the circuit for this special event open to the public, which will send participants along the picturesque Niagara Escarpment through Milton, Guelph and Campbellville.
