The annual Oakville Jazz and Bluesfest is back and better than ever! This year, the Festival has a new home. Thanks to the generous support of the folks at Penequity Management Corporation and the Oakville Entertainment Centrum, the Festival is able to move to larger spaces to accommodate the ever-increasing number of Festival attendees. In response to survey results in previous years which showed that people felt a tad cramped in the mainstage area, organizers of the Festival can now offer 4 acres of landscaped parkland for folks to enjoy some hot jazz. Some really cool refreshments will be available at the site, courtesy of Alice Fazooli's and Dick's Vine and Grille. In ke e p in g w ith th e s p irit of change, organizers have added blues to the already great programming which Jim Galloway, Festival Artistic Director plans for the annual event. Look forward to a great blues night on Saturday, July 8. In the first time in its eight year history, the F estival w ill charge adm ittance to the Festival. In o rd e r to sustain excellent programming for the Festival, a Jazzport fee of $5.00 will be charged. The Jazzport is you r passport to a great weekend and admits you to the Festival grounds for all 3 days of the event. This year's programming will be made public this week, so be sure to check the Oakville Beaver for details.
