The Burlington M inor Football Association (BMFA) is extending their sum mer football program with the addition of a team to compete in the collegiate division of the Central Ontario M inor Football League (COMFL). COM FL is a rep level league made up of the m inor football associations o f C larington, O shaw a, A jax/Pickering, M arkham , Scarborough, N orth York, York/Durham , Beeton, E tobicoke, and Burlington. These associations have teams at the tyke, atom, peewee, bantam and now colle giate levels. The bantam and collegiate division sea son starts with registrations in March, prac tices in April and May, the final selections being made on or about May 25. The games will start Sunday June 2 and run through to championship game in midAugust. The BMFA has a long and illustrious his tory in minor football. They are the only non-U.S. organization to have w inning teams at the prestigious National Youth Football Championship tournament. The BMFA has consistently produced Ontario provincial championship teams over its 38 years in existence. They run a touch league in the spring and a tackle house league in the fall, as well as the Stampeder rep program. BMFA programs focus very heavily on coaching and teaching the mental and phys ical skills required to play the game of foot ball, as well as emphasizing the character and integrity development of young athletes. The sum m er football league provides players with a great competitive experience and prepares them well for their upcoming high school seasons, at the junior and senior levels. The collegiate team head coach Larry G uarascia has had extensive coaching expe rience over the years, and is currently the offensive line coach at M cM aster University.
